The Rest of Time

I wanna change people.

Call me crazy.

Crazy people change the world.

Change is inevitable. Why don’t we realise that? Whether for good or bad, we all change. Our faces, our walk, our speech, our actions, our decisions. Saying it or not is a choice we have. Accepting that we WILL change and we SHOULD, could help make the metamorphosis a much smoother process. Change might be painful and excruciating, but it all ends up sunshine and daisies. There are times when the change is pushed at you, like the bursting of an irritating pimple on the tip of your nose, and when it happens and you don’t even realise how, like the greying of your hair that sneak up on you.. Whether its sudden or steady, it is what it is. Either accept it or fight it, the choice is yours.

I have always had the feeling that God works in ways that we can’t even see. Everything we do and say and hear and touch is pre ordained. Our lives have been designed, so there are no mistakes. No wrong steps, no tripping, no straying. All that we do is for a purpose. The brief detours we make or are tempted towards are also an integral part of our journey towards bliss or damnation. We will all end up in the same place, and how we get there is the thriller that we all experience.

Think of one thing you want to alter in your self: your receding hairline, your paunchy, your anger, your vulnerability, your obesity, your arrogance, maybe even your hurt..  Changing these within your self is a feat even Hercules dare not attempt for want of the temptation to change others instead. It is a very difficult step that not many can take- to accept there are flaws that you have and you may not be the best, or better than the rest. It is what we are led to believe from our early years. Our parents, mostly tell us how amazing we are, quick to highlight our good to greats rather than tell us what we could be working on to make us the greatest.

But a word of caution.

Change for yourself, not another.

Gradually begin the process of self discovery and enhancement. Try not to rush and alter your very being over a week. Beauty takes effort, time and determination. For what are we except for things of beauty, diamonds in the rough, waiting to be polished. Who is the best person to polish you? YOU! ‘Cus you alone know what to do and how to do. You alone can bolster your talents and delete your shortcomings.. Much more easier than listening to the ramblings, nagging, cajoling rhetoric of  another, no?

Change you, and the world changes around you.

Here’s to the crazy ones, the misfits, the rebels, the troublemakers, the round pegs in the square holes… the ones who see things differently — they’re not fond of rules… You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them, but the only thing you can’t do is ignore them because they change things… they push the human race forward, and while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius, because the ones who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world, are the ones who do.
